HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT)

HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), formerly known as QuickTest Professional (QTP) is an object-based GUI testing tool that automates functional regression tests for software and websites on a range of browsers, including mobile devices.

Automation using UFT (QTP) can improve the agility of your test team and help ensure you produce software that works seamlessly for end users. UFT (QTP) is proven to quickly return on investment when implementing an automated test pack. Keyword driven tests can be put in place, using a data driven approach so that tests can be run by less technical users, in both waterfall and agile projects.  Expected outcomes can be checked against data items and any differences quickly flagged so that possible regressions can be investigated.

A set of UFT (QTP) tests can be run standalone, integrated with HP’s test management tool ALM / Quality Center, or they may be run via a continuous integration server, for example Jenkins.  These different options provide flexibility that makes HP’s market leading test automation tool an integrated part of your software development methodology and technical fabric of IT delivery.

In order to get the most out of this tool, it is important to create the right testing framework, keywords and object repositories, with an integrated and tailored set of standards based on industry best practice. The software testing consultancy at e-testing provides the help you need to effectively use UFT (QTP).
