e-testing Accredited to deliver the ISTQB Advanced Certificate in Test Management
e-testing are pleased to announce our recent accreditation by ISEB and the ISTQB to deliver our in house developed course based on the ISTQB Advanced Certificate in Software Test Management. The course is designed to be run over 5 days, either straight through, or in two modules of three and two days. This course is the new advanced level certification in software testing and replaces the Practitioner certificate, phased out in March 2011.
Jonathan Binks comments: “We have put a great deal of effort into this course to ensure it fully addresses the syllabus, and beyond where practical. Our trainers have used their real life testing experiences and expertise of many years in order to deliver a course that is likely to be one of the very best on the market. We are delighted that ISEB have awarded us this accreditation with such positive comments and look forward to delivering it.”

e-testing Re-accredited to the updated Foundation Certificate Syllabus (2010)
The Foundation Certificate in Software Testing course has been extensively rewritten and updated to give students a clear grounding in IT software testing, relevant to today’s industry. For either businesses or individuals, the benefits of this course will be far reaching for their IT systems, and future careers, since most of the course materials are written and developed by individuals with years of IT industry experience. Many IT testing jobs require the ISTQB foundation certificate for employment, and e-testing has a pass rate of at least 85%, often 100%.
Jonathan Binks is very pleased with the improvements, commenting that; “This update further enhances the value of the already well recognised ISTQB foundation certificate as the international standard for software testing certification. The Foundation Certificate has been enhanced to bring it up to date with current industry practices and thinking and we believe this is a fantastic improvement.”

First Meeting of the Training Providers’ User Group
The first Training Providers’ User Group meeting group took place at the BCS’s London office on 19th February. The main focus of discussions between Training Providers and the BCS centred round the development of the new ISEB Practitioner Course. The syllabi for this course are expected to be released to Training Providers in March for review with the first formal exam taking place in June. It is likely that this exam will be sat by Training Providers in order to provide ISEB with constructive feedback going forward. The general consensus was that the new ISEB Practitioner syllabi should be aligned with the ISTQB Advanced level to allow the formation of one international qualification at Advanced/Practitioner level. The outcome of this meeting will be considered by ISEB at their next meeting in March. The next Training Provider meeting will take place in May, updates to follow.

The first meeting will take place on 19th February and will be attended by representatives from fellow training organisations accredited to provide ISTQB courses. The main focus of the initial meetings will be the planned revisions to the practitioner certificate. The group plans to meet quarterly and channel communication to and from ISEB on a regular basis.
