Prior to implementation of the system into production and with just two months before a trial of the system was due to commence, a team of e-testing consultants was placed on site to define and manage the testing effort.

Results

Whilst on site, e-testing consultants:

1. Identified a two-tier testing strategy, high level test plan and resource driven project plan showing expected timescales. The two tiers identified as giving most benefit were business process and modular approaches.
2. Developed detailed test plans for each of the tiers of testing and gained business approval before proceeding.
3. Defined and documented the business processes for the operation.
4. Produced detailed test scripts for each of the business processes and modular tests to be run.
5. Brought on site the e-testing defect tracking system, to ensure that developers were able to address priority issues in quick time. Implementation of the system was immediate and used by developers, database administrators, testers and management alike to keep a real-time track of those issues raised by each cycle of testing.
6. Completed several full cycles of testing prior to trial, identification of issues and verification of fixes made by the in house development team.
7. Produced load / stress testing plan and liaised with a number of suppliers of testing tools to evaluate the best one to suit the purpose.
8. Assisted in other areas of the company set-up, including Business Continuity and Problem Management.
