Technology Partners and Tools
HP Unified Functional Testing software (UFT)
Makes automated testing more efficient and help developers and testers collaborate. This functional automated testing software, formerly named QuickTest Professional (QTP), helps deliver quality software at the speed your business requires. UFT combines QTP, with additional support for web service testing (HP Service Test) and integrated support for testing across mobile devices, with HP Mobile. UFT supports a broad range of applications, including a wide range of web technologies, as well as more traditional applications, such as CRM and ERP applications.
UFT has full integration with HP Quality Center / ALM, to allow automated tests to be tracked back to requirements, as well as scheduled and run alongside manual tests, with results and defects tracked automatically in a central location. UFT can be integrated with continuous integration deployment methods.
Manual testing still has an important part to play. HP Sprinter makes manual testing more efficient and less time consuming, with support for test design, execution and defect documentation. Sprinter is available standalone, or integrated within Quality Center and ALM. HP Business Process Testing is also integrated with Sprinter.
HP LeanFunctional Testing
Lean FT is a lightweight tool, designed for continuous testing and integration, allowing the development of automated scripts based on unit testing frameworks (Junit, Nunit) and fully integrated in development IDEs – Eclipse and Visual Studio. HP LeanFunctional can be used by testers, developers and automation engineers alike, allowing cross platform, multi browser tests to be integrated into the agile development process.
Ranorex is a GUI based test automation too that allows rapid development of automation on any desktop, web or mobile application. Supported technologies include .NET, Winforms, WPF, Java, SAP, HTML5, Flash, Flex, Silverlight, iOS, Android, Windows Apps (Native/Hybrid) and many more.
Selenium (open source)
Selenium is a complex, open source suite of tools for automating web browser tests across a range of different platforms. Users can create automated tests without coding. Existing tests can be converted easily with programming languages so that more advanced and efficient tests can be conducted in numerous browsers, and on operating systems with control by testing frameworks. Selenium testing is supported by some of the largest browser vendors who have taken (or are currently taking) steps to make Selenium a native part of their browser. It is also the core technology in countless other browser automation tools, APIs and frameworks.
One of the Selenium based tools we have had a great deal of experience with is Robot Framework, implemented using Python. For more information please see http://robotframework.org
