Testing Tool Evaluation Studies
For tool evaluation and implementation studies we have:

1. A standard method for selecting tools (including tools for test automation, test management, defect management, load and performance testing, monitoring, simulation and emulation). This includes building a business case for purchasing or leasing tools as well as selection criteria and supplier management.
2. Our own experiences of using testing tools on our assignments including practical strengths and weaknesses. We regularly use all the major testing tools and have used many of the more obscure and free tools as well.
3. Experts in using testing tools, including staff accredited by the testing tool vendors as users of their tools.
4. Experience of training customers on testing tools usage.
   Access to information from industry analysts, such as Meta Group and Ovum, evaluating testing tools performance.

5. Relationships with all the tool vendors. We have built on this to help a number of customers negotiate a better deal on their tool licenses

Performance Testing
e-testing employs a dedicated system performance testing team. It is their responsibility to plan and execute tests on a regular basis and analyse the results to aid the client in enhancing their systems and configuring them for optimum performance.

The team has a broad base of skills and can boast experience in all leading technologies including mainframe, client/server and e-commerce on both small and large-scale systems.

This experience has allowed e-testing to develop internal processes and procedures through client template documents so that the client will be guaranteed a high and repeatable level of quality. To aid these processes and procedures a number of internal standards have been added such as Coding Standards for script development and Informal Project Reviews to confirm the standards set out are being delivered. Additional to this, a daily issues log will be generated and passed to Sporting Index so they are able to build a library of common issues which can be used in future system developments.

The system performance testing team also have numerous consultants who are Certified Product Specialists in Mercury Interactive LoadRunner, also Certified Product Instructors who are able to run a Mercury Interactive approved LoadRunner course, although Mercury products are not the only ones we recommend - e-testing are partnered with several of the leading testing tool vendors.

Automated Regression Testing
e-testing have a great deal of experience in automated regression testing using the leading tools available on the market today, in particular Quick Test Professional, WinRunner and QARun. Our consultants have both assisted existing test teams with temporary expertise and driven the complete effort on new automation projects for blue chip clients across the UK.

Test Automation Health Checks
Our experienced consultants take an impartial, detailed look at the test automation in use within an organisation. This includes looking at what tools are used, the skills with the team / company and the level of automation being employed, along with the rate of change of functionality of the application. A full audit of automated functionality can be carried out so it can be optimised and the most can be achieved from running automated regression scripts. e-testing consultants can re-write automated scripts to make them more efficient as well as supplementing existing scripts to cover additional functionality. As a part of this service we also put in place guidelines and best practice for test automation, to ensure that future tests are developed in the right way.

Implementing an automated framework allows business users to automatically input a range of trades by using dynamic data in spreadsheets and monitoring the output.
