The following reading list was drawn up based upon that provided by ISTQB/ISEB for candidates on the ISTQB Certified Tester : Foundation/Advanced Level and BCS Intermediate Certificates in Software Testing. In each of the categories, the books are shown in descending publication date. This list in not intended as a collective endorsement of individual books in any way.   • ISTQB (Searchable) Glossary of Testing Terms:
  • British Computer Society : The Chartered Institute for IT, Software Testing pages : Responsible for the training provider accreditation, setting of public exam dates, training syllabi for Software Testing training courses and other subject areas (Project Management, IT Service management, etc).
  • International Software Testing Quality Board (ISTQB) – Responsible for setting the syllabi and exams for the ISTQB Certification courses in Software Testing.
  • Sticky Minds is a wonderful source of articles, and news items. Some of the test consultants referred to on the e-testing list of web links regularly write short articles available on this site. There are useful search-by-category facilities.
  • Testing Standard Working Party of the British Computer Society’s SIGiST. Responsible for BS 7925-1, and BS 7925-2, and currently working on standards for non functional testing.
